Steven Spielberg has officially selected his next directorial project. As predicted, it’s the one with ‘teenage-boy’s-fantasy’ written all over it: Robopocalypse.
Robopocalypse is based on Daniel H. Wilson’s as-yet-unpublished novel (about exactly what you think it’s about). Screenwriter Drew Goddard (Cloverfield) is adapting the book for the big screen.
According to Deadline, Spielberg will begin shooting Robopocalypse January 2012 for a 2013 release. However, it is not the next film we will see from the blockbuster filmmaker. His pictures Tin Tin: The Secret of the Unicorn and War Horse are both in post-production, and are set for a December 2011 release.
