Joel Edgerton‘s American-invasion is picking up speed. The AFI award-winning actor has been cast opposite Jennifer Garner in Disney’s upcoming fantasy The Odd Life of Timothy Green.
According to THR, Edgerton and Garner will star in the $40 million production as a couple who have difficulty conceiving a child.
“[They] bury all their wishes for a baby in a box in their backyard. One day, they wake up to find that a child is born, but the child is not all that it appears.”
Edgerton reportedly beat out Mark Wahlberg and Joaquin Phoenix to the role.
The film is based on a story by Ahmet Zappa and will be written and directed by Peter Hedges (Dan In Real Life).
Edgerton, who recently appeared in Animal Kingdom and The Waiting City, will next be seen in the prequel to The Thing.
