Trailer Debut: The Ides of March

The trailer for George Clooney‘s highly anticipated new drama (and dare we say it, Best Picture Oscar contender) The Ides of March has debuted online.

Based on Beau Willimon’s play Farragut North, The Ides of March stars Ryan Gosling as Stephen, the man behind the next president of the United States (played by Clooney). As Stephen navigates an upcoming presidential primary, he finds himself embroiled in a political scandal that could undo all his good work.

Director Clooney co-wrote the film with producing partner Grant Heslov (Good Night and Good Luck).

The Ides of March also stars Philip Seymour Hoffman, Paul Giamatti, Marisa Tomei, Jeffrey Wright and Evan Rachel Wood. It plays the Venice and Toronto film festivals next month, and will arrive in Australian cinemas later in the year.
