Martin Freeman and Eddie Marsan join Wright and Pegg’s The World’s End

Empire recently reported that Martin Freeman and Eddie Marsan have joined the cast of Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg’s long-awaited third collaboration, The World’s End.

After Shaun Of The Dead and Hot Fuzz, we have all been eagerly awaiting the final film in what Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg have dubbed the ‘Three Flavours Cornetto’ trilogy, with each film representing a different Cornetto flavour. After taking on horror (red strawberry) and cop-action (blue original) genres in their first two outings, the boys now delve into what seems to be a sci-fi, apocalypse orientated feature, named after a famous pub in London (this entry is officially dubbed their green, mint choc-chip instalment).

Freeman and Marsan will join Nick Frost, Paddy Considine, and Pegg as five friends who embark upon an epic pub crawl only to be interrupted by what the press synopsis mysteriously describes as a “struggle for the future, not just theirs but humankind’s”.

The World’s End arrives in cinemas 2013.
