Trailer Debut: Her

Spike Jonze is back with a melancholy new film: Her.

The trailer for his latest features Joaquin Phoenix as a lonely divorcee who falls in love with the operating system of his computer (voiced by Scarlett Johansson).

It’s Jonze’s first big-screen effort since 2009’s Where the Wild Things Are, though it recalls more heavily his early flicks, Being John Malkovich and Adaptation.

However, the writer of those pictures, Charlie Kaufman, is not involved here. Jonze is solely responsible for the script.

Amy Adams and Rooney Mara also star.

Her arrives in U.S. cinemas November 20, with a local release to follow soon after.
