James Cameron‘s Avatar has crossed the $US2 billion mark at the worldwide box office, making it the highest grossing film of all time. I mean, EVEN MORE SO!
Avatar’s $US2.039 billion gross has pulled even further ahead of previous record holder Titanic‘s total gross of $US1.843. It broke Titanic’s record on the 27th of January.
Frankly, it’s getting a little exhausting writing all these articles about the amount of money Avatar is making. Until the film hits the magic $US3 billion mark, I might impose a moratorium.
Discuss: I wonder how many Olympic sized swimming pools full of beer you could buy with $2 billion?
Just under 198 Olympic sized pools of beer.Lets see …$US 2 billion converts to $A 2,197,802,197 at at exchange rate of 91 cents to the US Dollar. At $40 per slab that would be 54,945,055 slabs of beer. That equates to 1,318,681,318 stubbies. Assuming they are all 375 ml stubbies that would be 494,505,494 litres of beer.If one can believe Wikipedia there are 2,500,000 litres in an Olympic swimming pool. Thus there would be enough beer to fill just under 198 Olympic sized swimming pools.
