Trailer Debut: The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo

The feature trailer for David Fincher‘s adaptation of the bestselling novel The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo has debuted online.

Last week, ahead of media screenings of Straw Dogs in the US, Sony premiered eight new minutes of footage from Fincher’s upcoming flick. Although we don’t have access to that nugget of goodness, this new clip still has a hearty three-and-a-half minutes of hacker Lisbeth Salander (Rooney Mara) and journalist Mikael Blomkvist (Daniel Craig) doing their investigative-thing.

Not quite as blistering or thrilling as that pitch-perfect teaser trailer, this new teaser at least shows off Fincher’s directorial flair (flair that was definitely lacking in the original Swedish adaptation), and highlights Trent Reznor’s chilling score.

One question: As good as Mara and Craig and Christopher Plummer et al look … where exactly are those accents from? Is this set in a Sweden where everyone speaks English? Or is it set in England, and everyone has a bit of a Swedish accent?

Check out the trailer and find out for yourself!

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo arrives in Australian cinemas on January 12, 2012.

Discuss: This film looks excellent. Hope it’s as good as The Pig With The Froggy Tattoo.
