Not even a week after the untimely death of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, Deadline reports Sony Pictures is in the midst of acquiring the rights to his forthcoming authorised biography.
The biography – titled simply Steve Jobs – was written by former CNN chairman and managing editor of Time Magazine, Walter Isaacson. Due to be released October 24, the book’s street date has been brought forward and is based on over 40 interviews with Jobs, as well as conversations with those who knew him best (friends, family and co-workers).
Though Sony has not confirmed, it’s believed the deal is $1 million against $3 million, with Mark Gordon to produce. That the novel had the seal of approval from Jobs – though he never read the final book – will draw much interest.
