Taking a leaf from the book of super-prolific director Steven Soderbergh (who probably began and completed production of a film in the time it took you to finish this sentence), Joss Whedon has revealed he filmed an adaptation of William Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing whilst working on The Avengers.
Details were released via the secret project’s official website.
Filmed in just 12 days entirely on location in exotic Santa Monica, the film features a stellar cast of beloved (or soon to be beloved) actors – some of them veterans of Shakespearean theater, some completely new to the form.
The film features regular Whedonites Amy Acker, Alexis Denisof and Nathan Fillion.
There is no release date yet available for the black-and-white picture, though we do know The Avengers arrives in Australian cinemas April 2012.
