Unfairly maligned Lost co-creator and Prometheus screenwriter Damon Lindelof is developing a brand new TV series; one which hopefully won’t raise the ire of all who watch it.
According to Vulture, Lindelof is adapting Tom Perotta’s novel The Leftovers for HBO.
The tale takes place in the years following a “Rapture-like Global event” during which millions of people disappeared, leaving a small number behind.
Fear not fans of The Stand: Stephen King has given the book his blessing, calling it “the best Twilight Zone episode you never saw.”
Perotta also penned Election, which Alexander Payne turned into a sardonic masterpiece.
Discuss: Would you invest time in another Lindelof sci-fi project?
