Abigail Breslin is the latest to join the star-studded cast of August: Osage County, Deadline reports.
Breslin will appear opposite Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, and Juliette Lewis in the John Wells directed adaptation of Tracy Letts’ Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winning play.
Streep has been cast as Violet Weston, the pill popping matriarch of an unstable and highly dysfunctional Oklahoma family. Roberts will play her eldest daughter Barbara, and Breslin will tackle the role of Roberts’ daughter, Jean Fordham, an angry and pot smoking 14-year-old.
The movie will take place over several weeks in summer, with filming expected to begin later this year. Breslin already has a full schedule, with the sci-fi Ender’s Game, co-starring Harrison Ford and Ben Kingsley, horror flick Haunter, and thrillers The Hiver and Final Girl all due out in 2013.
