Bryan Singer returns to X-Men

Bryan Singer, director of the first two X-Men movies, will return to the franchise and helm First Class sequel Days of Future Past.

According to Deadline, 20th Century Fox and Singer closed the deal for Singer to graduate from producer to director following the exit of Matthew Vaughn.

The script for Days of Future Past is ready to roll, and cast members Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, and Jennifer Lawrence will all reprise their roles from the previous flick.

Singer’s original X-Men films received much acclaim, but he left third instalment The Last Stand in the not so reliable hands of Brett Ratner. Fans have been hoping for his return to the director’s chair ever since.

The July 2014 release date still stands.

  1. Yay! Not that Vaughn didn’t do a great job but without him someone just as good was needed and I think Singer is the man.
