Mel Gibson as a crazy super-villain and Charlie Sheen as the President of the United States? It could only be the trailer for Machete Kills.
From the looks of this genuinely insane trailer, it seems director Robert Rodriguez has turned his dial to 11 for this sequel, which once again stars Danny Trejo in the title role.
Casting Gibson as a billionaire revolutionary trying to bomb the White House is a little bit genius, and the supporting cast Rodriguez has dragged together is bizarrely impressive: Lady Gaga, Sofia Vergara, Cuba Gooding Jr, Michelle Rodriguez, Antonio Banderas, Jessica Alba, and, of course, Sheen as the POTUS.
If Machete Kills is as much fun as the trailer promises this could be something worth looking forward to. But remember: Machete don’t tweet!
It arrives in local cinemas October 3.
