Oscar winner and freakishly talented actor Cate Blanchett is going to try her hand at directing. Films, that is.

According to Deadline, Blanchett is set to make her feature directorial debut with The Dinner, adapted from a Herman Koch novel by Academy Award nominee Oren Moverman (The Messenger).

It’s a thriller that concerns the lengths parents go to protect their children.

Blanchett has proven to be a formidable force as artistic director of the Sydney Theatre Company. Here’s hoping her hot streak continues here.

It is unknown if she will also star in the flick.
