That Alice in Wonderland sequel is still happening, in case you’d forgotten. Disney have sent out a reminder by announcing the official title: Through the Looking Glass.
Through the Looking Glass, of course, is the follow up to Lewis Carroll’s original novel Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Weirdly, both were used as source material for Tim Burton’s hit 2010 film.
James Bobin is taking over directorial duties from Burton this time around, though stars Mia Wasikowska and Johnny Depp will indeed return.
According to Deadline, Sacha Baron Cohen is in early talks to take on an as-yet-undisclosed role.
The 2010 Alice in Wonderland grossed more than a billion dollars at the box office, helped by being the first major 3-D release to follow Avatar.
Can Through the Looking Glass succeed in a similar manner?
We’ll find out when it hits cinemas May 27, 2016.
