Teaser Debut: Paranormal Activity 3

Spooky little girls! Spooky little girls! If you thought the Paranormal Activity series had dined out on all the classic tropes of the horror genre, you forgot one: spooky little girls. According to the newly released trailer for Paranormal Activity 3, the latest film in the franchise looks to rectify that.

It was revealed in May that Catfish helmers Ariel Schulman and Henry Joost would direct PA3, and that PA2 scripter Christopher P. Landon would pen the flick. Director of the original film, Oren Peli, once again returns as producer.

A mere two months later, and we have our first glimpse of the film, which will be a prequel that focuses on the youth of sisters Katie and Kristi. Those familiar with the lore of the saga know that these two were haunted in their youth, culminating in a tragic house fire. As adults, the girls could remember little of what had occurred, but were reminded when their ghostly demons reappeared.

Paranormal Activity 3, set in 1988, looks to reveal those original events.
