A new trailer for Disney’s John Carter has been released and certainly gives us a taste of the grand scale of this epic fantasy.
The Andrew Stanton directed adaptation of Edgar Rice Burrough’s novel stars Taylor Kitsch (Friday Night Lights) as John Carter, who finds himself transported to Mars and unwittingly caught in a battle between its people and their overlords, with the rebellion led by Tars Tarkas (Willem Dafoe) and Princess Thoris (Lynn Collins). The film also stars Bryan Cranston, Thomas Haden Church and Dominic West.
It’s hard to take in what is happening in the trailer once presented with a buff and shirtless Kitsch, but one must overcome this to appreciate the very detailed and sophisticated graphics on display. Set to rival the visuals and acting of Avatar – take this acting comparison as either a positive or negative – John Carter looks slick and jam packed full of action.
