Bill Murray might be replaced in Ghostbusters 3

It’s been a while since we wrote about Ghostbusters 3. Our last piece was entitled ‘Ghostbusters 3 to begin production in May 2011‘, so you can probably guess why we’ve steered clear from it.

There’s been a lot of hearsay and disinformation regarding the status of this long-gestating sequel. But today comes news that we just can’t ignore.

Speaking to Empire Online, head G3 cheerleader Dan Aykroyd revealed that if long-time holdout Bill Murray refused to return as Peter Venkman, they might just recast him.

There was also some talk regarding the status of the script. As always, Aykroyd said they “have more work to do”. He also hopes to reach out to the reclusive Rick Moranis and have him appear in the flick.
